2.X
v2.0.X MAJOR VERSION
v2.0.0 - 17 June 2025
  • Additions
    • Added Typhoomerangs, Hobgobblers, Screaming Deaths, and Death Songs
      • Typhoomerangs and Hobgobblers spawn naturally
      • Untamed Hobgobblers will duplicate when they are not being watched. This is capped at twelve Hobgobblers to prevent lag.
      • Hobgobblers can be tamed with any food item. They can ride on your shoulder, and will defend you fiercely
      • Only baby Screaming Deaths can be tamed, and they do not spawn naturally. They must be hatched from a Screaming Death Egg, which can be found on Dragon Hunter Ships. There is also a small chance that two Whispering Deaths will lay a Screaming Death egg instead of their own.
      • Added Amber Blasts as the Death Song fire type. Amber Blasts will freeze players and some entities in place for about 40 seconds. Interacting with the Amber Chunk using Monstrous Nightmare Gel will coat it in gel. Lighting the gel with Flint and Steel, a Fire Charge, or the Dragon Blade will destroy the amber and free the entity or player.
      • Book of Dragons entries are available for all four
    • Added Boneknapper and Sentinel Bosses, and their Trained Variants
      • Book of Dragons entries are available for both
    • Added the Red Death Boss
      • A Book of Dragons is available for it
    • Added the Boss Fight Structures for Sentinels, Boneknappers, and Red Deaths
    • Added the Death Song Nests
    • Added the Dragon Eye and Dragon Eye Lenses
      • The Dragon Eye can be found on the Captain's Table of Dragon Hunter Ships
      • Some Dragon Eye Lenses can be found in boss structures. Others can be found in Dragon Hunter Ships
      • Interacting with the Dragon Eye while holding a Lens will drop the current Lens if there is one and insert the new one. Breaking the Dragon Eye or interacting with something other than a Lens will drop the Current Lens.
    • Added Gronckle Iron.
      • Raw Gronckle Iron can be crafted with 1 Raw Iron, 2 Sandstone, and 3 Calcite. Interacting with a trained Gronckle using Raw Gronckle Iron will transform the item into a Gronckle Iron Ingot
      • Gronckle Iron Ingots can be used to craft Gronckle Iron Armor, which has a protection value between Iron and Diamond Armor.
      • Raw Gronckle Iron and Gronckle Iron Ingots can be crafted into blocks.
    • Added Dragon Scales for the five main dragons. These will be dropped by trained dragons occassionally.
      • Surrounding a Gronckle Iron Armor Piece with any of the scales will create the respective Dragon Armor.
      • A full set of Dragon Armor will let you walk through fire, but is not lava resistant.
    • Added Night Fury Tail Fins, which can be equipped on Night Furies for further customization
      • The "Toothless" name Easter Egg has also been removed. Use the Red Night Fury Tail Fin to achieve the same effect.
    • Added Saddle Bags, which act like a bundle and can be equipped to your dragon.
    • Added Incubation Pedestals. Dragon eggs will no longer hatch unless they are placed on a pedestal that has been filled with lava. Incubation can take anywhere from 2 to 8 minutes, depending on the dragon.
    • Added Dragon Name Tags. These specialized name tags will open the dragon naming menu that is opened upon training a dragon.
      • Dev Note: This is both a solution to the issue in which some dragons couldn't be renamed, and a way to make naming dragons more accessible. These name tags are craftable and do not need an anvil to be used. </ul> </ul>
      • Changes
        • Changed Hideous Zippleback, Gronckle, and Deadly Nadder models to be more accurate
        • Changed the Minecraft Sheep's model to be look like the sheep in How to Train Your Dragon
        • Added sounds for a few more dragons
        • Overhauled Dragon Hunter Ships.
          • There are now 3 variations with different loot, and they contain more hunters, more dragons to rescue, and more loot.
        • Overhauled Night Fury spawning
          • Night Furies will now have approximately a 12% chance to spawn near a random player during an unskipped night (1.2% per minute of night) if there is not an untamed night fury near that player.
          • Dev Note: The old method of spawning night furies made them a little too rare, because only one could exist in a world at once. This new method will try to spawn one just as often as the old method. However, the spawn attempt only succeeded if a player had already found the last one spawned. The new method will succeed in almost every situation. </ul>
          • Overhauled the Flight System
            • Holding Jump will put your dragon in flight mode. Not holding Jump will put your dragon in walk mode. When flying, look where you want to go and you will travel in that direction.
            • Dev Note: This new flight system allows you to change your camera perspective yourself, instead of locking it to what the default is in the Settings Item's Menu. Because of this, access to the Settings Menu has been removed. Existing Settings items will remain, but they will not be usable, and new ones cannot be acquired by crafting or joining a world. </ul> </ul>
            • Fixes
              • Fixed the Dragon Horn item not working properly. It now takes a few seconds to use and will play a sound when finished.
              • Fixed Ice Gronckle not being spawnable using a spawn egg except during December
              • Fixed Dragon Hunter Arrows not making your dragon flightless
                • Dev Note: The intention has always been that being hit by a dragon hunter's arrow would prevent your dragon from flying for several seconds. This hasn't worked for a long time, but is now working again.
            • Known Issues
              • Dragons that were tamed as a baby cannot breed. We are well aware of this issue and have been trying to fix this for months
              • Most dragons do not float. Until we fix this issue, dragons will not drown. This will be changed as soon as we fix the issue. This also means that dragons cannot fly underwater, and you will have to build a staircase to get them out.
              • Some dragons are much smaller than they are in the franchise. This is due to a Bedrock Edition bug that doesn't allow rideable mobs to be larger than a certain size in most situations. Please upvote MCPE-211666 to get this bug fixed.
              </ul> </ul> </ul> HOTFIX

                • Adjusted some elements of the new Flight System

                  • To hover, stop pressing movement buttons while flying
                  • To stop flying, press jump once or fly into the ground for a few seconds
                  • Dragons will now lean in the direction they are turning when ridden by a player
                  • Dev Note: I wish to reiterate that we will not be removing this new Flight System, because the positives far outweigh the negatives overall, even if you cannot see it. </ul> </ul>

                  • Known Issues

                    • Most dragons do not float. Until we fix this issue, dragons will not drown. We have spent hours trying to figure out what is causing, and we cannot simply decide when we figure it out. Please be patient.
                    • Most dragons do not follow the player. Please use leads to move them around until then.
